I worked at J. C. Penney part-time (Less than a year)
There were very few pros to working at J.C. Penney. The only one I can think of was that some (but few) of the other sales and floor employees were friendly and willing to help each other out.
My schedule wasn't taken into consideration and I was working 40+ hours a week when I had applied for a part time position. Some of the other employees I worked with were unreliable, showed up late, and were lazy.
Advice to Management
First of all, the managers that were working there weren't friendly. Also, when there were issues with some of the employees not doing their jobs, being lazy, etc., the managers failed to correct them or punish them so they continued to not do their jobs the entire time I worked there. Overall, they failed to show leadership skills and continually allowed some of the workers to perform below standards even after complaints were made by other employees.
