I worked at J Sainsbury part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Convenience teams are very close and friendly. The workforce is fairly young, and opportunity to spend time outside of work such as 'work nights' are often. All colleagues and management were very friendly, from this I have developed many out of work friends. Yearly bonus is also available for all colleagues. Holiday allowance is also great. Flexibility to switch shifts, give away shifts or pick up overtime. Overall superb part-time student employment.

    Cons

Underpaid in comparison to competitors such as Tesco. No pay rises for working national holidays. Fairly little opportunity for upwards progression throughout the business, especially on a part-time contract.

    Recommends
    Positive Outlook
