    I have been working at Jack Henry & Associates as a contractor for less than a year


    Reasonable pay rate. If you are looking for a place that does not require much effort you found it.


    Managers are not technical, ask the same questions repeatedly. Developers are given poor equipment making it hard to be productive. Decisions are either not made or are based on old web based decisions that should not move forward. Too few people in power with no checks and balances. Misuse of Agile development processes, just add up people and hours and pretend they will all work on any part of it. Treating programmers and QA as plug-n-play people. Not training people just tossing C# developers at Objective C and hoping for the best.

    The company is solid and makes money but they could make a ton more if it ran with any sort of efficiency. Too many working from home are not productive and know how to play the system. Since the managers work from home too not much thought is given to any of it.

    Basically frozen in time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Resilo the company. Move QA and business decisions with the programming group. Cut back on working from home. Learn true Agile processes. Upgrade developer equipment. Take a hard look at the direction the company is taking instead of just riding the wave of monthly income.
