I worked at Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare part-time (More than 10 years)
It certainly helped me make a living, beneficial for health insurance, vision and dental, and it allowed me to explore various types of nursing. There are 90% twelve hour shifts available and as long as you are pursuing to further your education then there are many avenues you can take to advance your career.
Unfortunately, this is a large organization and you can find yourself lost at times, not close to your supervisor because they are in meetings most of the time and it can be difficult to get help or get questions answered because they are always doing something other than helping you find your way.
Advice to Management
Cut down on the amount of meetings to allow supervisors to get to know there employees and be there when they need help; be more accessible to those who make this whole thing work.
