I have been working at John Hancock full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Amount of vacation time given. Work from home flexibility (this came in very handy during the nightmare winter commutes of 2015)

    Cons

Not feeling like you can actually enjoy the vacation time with expectation of always being 'on call'. Management thinks that people working into the wee hours of the night represents 'employees being engaged'.

    Advice to Management

Management in the ivory towers at Manulife Corporate need to remember what it's like to be a regular employee. Employees continue to be disenfranchised by moves being made with little regard to employee well being. The companies bottom line is very important, but it can't be the ONLY consideration.
