I have been working at K12 full-time (More than 3 years)
Family like atmosphere amongst teachers, some flexibility, work from home.
Pay is a joke, revolving door company, extremely overworked. In order to advance in the company you have to be on someone's good side. There is an expectation to work outside of business hours and complete your work even though there aren't enough hours in a day. We are still held to the standard of having our evaluations be dependent on test scores even though we are not the primary teacher of the student and we are so overworked that it's impossible to keep up with students needs.
Advice to Management
Pay teachers what they deserve and not just the sales and upper management individuals. In the long haul, losing veteran and qualified teachers will result in the downfall of the company. You cannot sell a quality product without treating those on the front lines with respect and listening to their concerns. Stop loading things on teachers until they are screaming mercy.
