    Pros

KPMG is one of the best places to launch your career. There are numerous opportunities to try different projects within the firm, so you never really have to leave. The benefits aren't perfect, but they are good. KPMG prides itself on having a "high performing culture," which means you are constantly encouraged to push yourself to the next level. Fortunately, there are countless resources to propel your career. KPMG provides excellent career coaches, training programs, and diversity initaitives. You are encouraged , but not required, to help with recruiting programs. When your inevitable busy season begans, you are given many perks to help ease the work/life balance. With few exceptions KPMG employees are genuinely nice, smart, and professional.

    Cons

The compensation is a joke, which is typical of Big 4 Firms. Although there are many opportunities in the firm, it can be difficult to move to another project. (KPMG leadership recently established a transition assistance program to address this concern.) The busy season can wear you down; even if you work in Advisory, expect to have a busy season. The engagement reviews and compensation process is a big mystery, because it seems that your success/salary is contingent on your partner's mood.

    Advice to Management

Allow employees to transition to different projects more easily.
Hold partners accountable for rewarding/compensating their employees.
