    I have been working at Kelway full-time (more than 5 years)


    • lots going on
    • wide variety of work
    • reasonable pay and benefits
    • friendly helpful colleagues
    • reasonably well equipped with necessary tools
    • good training and opportunities for manufacturer accreditations
    • flexible working due to being home based
    • company expanding rapidly
    • very little pressure from managers


    • no pay rise in 3 years despite company profits increasing year on year (hoping to reach £1 billion sales in 2015...)
    • Oncall overtime slashed to a pittance (despite the company surpassing £500M sales)
    • bonus removed completely (despite the company surpassing £500M sales)
    • an ever increasing amount of paperwork. No effort to become 'paperless'.
    • little invest ploughed back into field services (issued with crappy broken 3-5 year old laptops and no electronic system for receiving/closing down calls)
    • poor failing internal IT systems. Not suited to field based employees
    • company cars replaced with cheaper poorer spec models
    • very little management communication to field engineers (feel like we are an invisible department which is overlooked)
    • brow beaten and threatened into signing a new contract with worse conditions
    • a lack of understanding within other depts on how field engineers work
    • company wants more and more from employees but gives less and less in return
    • very little prospect to progress through the company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Senior management (CEO and MD level) need to communicate with individual departments more. Open better direct lines of communication with employees. Reward good employees better or you will lose them. Bring in a transparent pay structure.
