    I worked at Kenwood USA full-time (more than 10 years)


    Very proud to have called Kenwood my career home. Brand recognition is high, mostly due to the legacy of past accomplishments and great product quality over the years. Most of the people are great; some are downright deceitful (as you get with any company). It had a real "family" atmosphere.


    Tough market conditions have caused many decisions to be made by overseas managers and not by experienced people working in the region. Short-term metrics have taken priority over long-term. Company has been viewing employees more as fixed expense liabilities and less like vital assets. The JVC merger was a huge, costly mistake. The good old days are long gone here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Sell off JVC, get back to business basics, trust your management and nurture your employees like you used to. Ride out the economic storm like every other company - don't balance your financials on the backs of the employees.
