I have been working at Kindred Healthcare full-time (More than 5 years)
They are flexible when it comes to schedule. Small facility so everyone know everyone. Doctors know their patients and take the time to get to know them.
High patient to nurse ratio. Always short staffed. Rely heavily on agency to fill staff shortages. No raises, acknowledgement of staff. Horrible insurance and benefits. Staff are definitely OVER WORKED and UNDER PAID. Constant change in management. High staff turnover.
Advice to Management
Recognize your current staff for what they do. Change insurance options and get rid of healthy rewards. Raises across the board that start now that are competitive to other hospitals and the care we provide. Last evaluation was told if they gave raises I would get a 3 cent raise so what's the motivation to stay when others are offering better working environment and higher pay?
