    I have been working at Kinnser Software full-time

    Pros

    Decent pay and good benefits for an entry level tech support position.

    Cons

    It's a Mickey Mouse, high school environment. The only way to advance in the company is if the "cool kids" (managers and supervisors) like you and you're in their circle, otherwise you get nothing. The tech support job is really intended for a younger person who is new to the workforce. Older employees who have a solid resume, proven work experience and a good education are treated the same as a person who is just starting out. They claim it's not a metrics based call center, but if your lunch runs over two minutes or if you take a ten minute restroom break or if you clock in one minute past your start time, you get reprimanded. Answering phones in a call center has it's own set of challenges, but they make things unbearable by micromanaging their employees.

    Advice to Management

    Micromanaging doesn't work for everyone, especially adults who have paid their dues in the workforce and know how to handle their job. Stay in touch with your employees on the floor. Morale is super low and nobody enjoys coming to work. Change the tone of the office. Give people a reason, other than a paycheck, to come to work. Give me incentives to do a better/good job. Breakfast tacos, gold stars and internet high fives doesn't work for everyone. This isn't kindergarten.
