Former Employee - Sales Associate in Rapid City, SD

I worked at Kmart part-time (less than a year)

    Employee Discount
    Free Physical workouts
    Quick & Easy interview system
    Online Applications

Quota on signing up customer for reward cards.
Poor pay for the amount of work done.
    Poor management.
Point system for your behavior, this also including asking for sick time.
Don't bother asking holiday days off, everyone works.

You have to apply online to get a interview, usually the website will schedule a time for you to come in. If you apply for a specific job, please keep in mind they train all new worker as customer associates first. You will then be a associate for months, towards years before finally being "promoted" into something else. Pay is meager compared to other retail jobs, and the bigger sister employee's actually make more then Kmart employee's.

For example - I requested to be Electronic associate, but was classified as a normal sale associate for 4 months, before being made into Electronics. But it didn't end there, when you're "Electronics", your additional jobs includes the following.

    1. Toys
    2. Seasonal
    3. Office supplies

I had to juggle 4 departments during my 8 hour shifts every time I worked.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
