It's an "ok" job if you need something quick.

I have been working at Kohl's part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Was very supportive of me and my family, just after having a baby.
    Friendly coworkers
Awesome discount -- 15% (35 right before Christmas), and you can still use coupons/kohl's cash on top of it.
Cashier position is very straight forward, the computer essentially does all the work for you and takes you through the steps.
Good temporary/seasonal job if you need a quick-fix.

    Cons

Hours -- you may be scheduled till 10 pm, but expect to stay there till midnight - 1 am trying to clean up the store. They also only schedule breaks up to closing time, so you could work 4 pm to midnight and not get a meal break.
Pay is only 7.55 for seasonal hourly, which comes out to $150-200 weekly.
Continued to schedule me outside of my availability, and then get mad when I needed to change my hours.
Credit, credit, credit. 80% of the customers already have the charge card, so getting sign-ups is difficult. If you don't get credit, the managers get in trouble -- and then they cut your hours.
Product is wayyyyy overpriced so it appears "on sale". Get too many complaints from customers as if I'm the one controlling it. Kohl's is essentially a credit card company disguised as a department store.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give employees a more realistic idea of what their hours will be. Some of us have families and can't stay 2 hours past closing time.
I know management has no control over this, but the pay is just too low. I can go work at McD's for better pay.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
