I have been working at Kroger part-time (more than an year)

As a lowly store clerk being an employee was a decent first job. Pay is minimum wage. Hours are decent. The work wasn't hard. Flexible scheduling. Advancing from courtesy clerk to cashier is fairly easy.

The pay sucks no matter how good or hard you work. Not much benefits as a courtesy clerk.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care more about your clerks. For example don't send courtesy clerks outside in the rain to gather carts if you wouldn't do the it.
