    I worked at LIN Media

    Pros

There are some people who try strive everyday to put on a quality news product and have for years.

    Cons

The industry is changing rapidly and WIVB is not immune. There is a lot of cost cutting and the product is suffering. The long time employees are very reluctant to change (and do more work) and there is real double standard between the new (cheaper, younger) employees and the veterans.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Either decide to invest in quality journalists or don't but you can't keep squeezing your staff indefinitely. The good ones won't stay and when the veterans retire you'll be left with nothing.
