I worked at LPL Financial as a contractor (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Financial Advisors are able and encouraged to do what's best for their clients, instead of feeling pressured to recommend in-house investment products.

    Cons

Before LPL went public, the management was more aligned with client interests. Now they seem to be getting more focused on shareholder value. It's also not a place where a financial advisor can easily build their business, because the company doesn't advertise. That ack of name recognition leads to credibility issues because the general public needs to trust the company with whom they entrust their money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on advertising for better name recognition.
