I worked at LensCrafters part-time (More than 3 years)
Being part-time it was easy to pick up weekend and evening shifts to make extra money, my co-workers were great, and short interactions with customers made for a pleasing customer service job.
Changes in management caused a break down in communication from manger to employees, corporate had unrealistic ideas of satisfaction when they offered the "free replacement glasses if you don't love them" and the sales staff was penalized when this highly advertised service was used.
Advice to Management
Communicate. If you change the schedule, let those who are part time know via phone call or email. If you want people to work at least once a week, communicate that to them. If you don't communicate with your staff, they can't satisfy what you are aiming for.
