Wide range of technologies but still disjointed after mergers/take-overs.

I worked at Level 3 Communications full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Wide range of technologies and a fairly good work-life balance

    Cons

Too many managers and red tape. Very disjointed between the global sectors with each sector doing things their own way making it very hard to get any consensus on solutions that actually make a difference to customer satisfaction. Solutions are pushed in without proper testing placing a heavy burden on support departments.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need less managers and the managers in each global sector need to collaborate much more to focus on how to improve customer satisfaction, come to a solution and get it implemented asap!
