Former Employee - Stylist in Milpitas, CA

I worked at Levi Strauss part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The training received there as a stylist was very helpful. The managers really emphasize customer service as a priority and teach you valuable skills that are applicable in any other job where you work with people.
The work environment is friendly and coworkers generally get along well together.

    Cons

There's little room for growth and managerial positions comes from the outside so you can be working here a while and not be promoted.
Retail hours include nights and weekends and weekends are exceptionally difficult to request off.
"On Calls" require the worker to call in to check if they are needed and they make it difficult to make any plans because you "might" need to work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should try to include some perks to staying with the company at the year mark in order to have more skilled Stylist. "On Calls" should require the manager to call if they need the worker; it is a source of frustration to all.
