Former Employee - PEAK HIRE in Buffalo, NY

I worked at Liazon Corp as a contractor (less than a year)

The people really make Liazon; Great People- collaborative environment, team players.
Autonomous work environment - expect that you are a professional and give you the room to be and grow as one
    Exciting company
    Great experience- Diverse roles

Peak season practice is borderline unethical.
Given my two weeks notice on Christmas Eve
Contracts were for the end of January however most PEAK hires were let go at random 2 week intervals and only a select few had the privilege of completing their contracts.
The atmosphere and culture will make you want to stay and will set the bar very high for your next employer. However, the reality of peak season was different than what was originally laid out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rethink the cost effectiveness and back-lash of current peak season hiring practices. AT BARE MINIMUM set the expectation to peak heirs that the norm is that they will not be hired full-time. Only under certain circumstances are peak employees promoted.
As a peak employee the general consensus and impression was that there were plenty or more than enough room for full time additions. However the reality was that more than half of the peak employees were let go and now Liazon has a barren 3 floor office and aggravated a lot of the areas up and coming top quality workforce. My suggestion would be to set the expectation of a peak employee that direct hires are VERY rare and spots are more than limited.
