Former Employee - Sales Intern in Austin, TX
Former Employee - Sales Intern in Austin, TX

I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance as an intern (less than an year)

Great pay for interns, $18 per hour
Paid Training for Property and Casualty Insurance License and study time needed to pass

So much pressure to learn the industry and sell, sell, sell.
Definitely treated like an intern and not an employee
Felt very belittled by office reps
No work life balance. I was leaving the office at 7pm every night
No recognition... a little positivity would do my office good.

Overall it was a terrible experience. I can not say enough bad things. This was my 2nd internship and in comparison to my first it was pathetic. I dreaded going to work every day. They had me working for 3 senior reps and trying to balance all of that out was very hard.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Act like a manager, treat all employees with respect and don't let others belittle the interns who are trying to learn a new industry.
