I have been working at LivingSocial full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Health benefits and 401K vested from Day 1. Many positions allow for work from home.

    Cons

Confused, bewildered and unfocused. In late Spring the company had a massive 100 day plan that included hiring over a hundred new employees. As of today 20% of the work force was reduced in a massive layoff. In general this company is behind the times with technology and marketing. More importantly leadership is stagnant and inflexible. While there is a new CEO his plan has not been outlined nor communicated other than some 'listening' breakfasts and the massive layoffs and closing of an office that the paint is barely dry on. There is NO security here. Stay away. There is hardly a focused effort on the company's direction or product offerings.

Merchants....make sure you aren't on the end of the stick that finds Living Social does not have the 'float' money to pay you what it owes you. Careful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We understand that the company needs to make some changes in order to be profitable. The changes that need to be made are based at the foundation of the company. Get rid of the old guard who were rooted in doing things the old way....and wake up to the world that knows that email as a key function of the business is no longer innovative. Your current staff is now readying their resumes as they have no trust in the current company's opportunities or leadership. You will find it difficult to attract new talent when you need it because the company is viewed as unstable (and it is).
