Current Employee - Marketing in Washington, DC
Current Employee - Marketing in Washington, DC

I have been working at LivingSocial full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    1. Fun company culture; beer, wine, and snacks; fun company events
    2. cool, young professionals
    3. reputable popular company -- almost like the "Google" of DC. you don't have to explain what LivingSocial is when meeting new ppl/networking
    4. Easy to get interviews with other companies because everyone knows LivingSocial

    Cons

    1. HR is not supportive and not very responsive or friendly. If you have issues within the work place, you'd think HR would be the best people to chat with, but they're not. They are only concerned with recruiting, but really don't care about current employees, and it shows
    2. A bunch of entry level or senior positions. Very hard to be promoted if you're passed entry-level and want to move up the ladder to a mid-level or management position. Good job for ppl fresh out of college. Work here after college, gain some good skills and experience, and then leave and use those skills elsewhere. This is the perfect job for that.
    3. Pay -- lower than what other companies are paying. Bonuses and pay raises are few and far in between
    4. You never really know what's going on here as far as stability and company plans. Apparently, the company is going downhill, but ppl have been saying that for years and we're still here, but ya never know what's to come
    5. New CEO - Gautam -- You'd think he would walk around to meet and get to know people/departments, say hi in elevators and in passing, and be genuinely friendly, but no.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

HR - Become more responsive and friendly. Employees should feel welcome and able to talk with you about issues they're having in the work place
Get to know your employees. This is not a large company. No reason why everyone shouldn't know each other or at least names/departments

    Recommends
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
