    I have been working at Lockheed Martin


    Very large company offers numerous projects to apply to work on. Health benefits, this year, better than small companies I have worked with in the past. Next year, Lockheed's OneHealth plan will drastically change that if it becomes the only option. Corporate management is very serious about diversity and respecting others.


    Very hard to be promoted if not following a management track. Lip-service ONLY for technical skills and non-management progression. Like so many other places, technical training and certification receives so little funding as to be meaningless (here is $2,000, go train 10 people). Lower and middle management thinks everyone wants to be a manager like them: more political manager than leader.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Fix the hiring process. Good lord, why can't HR match resumes to open positions? HR only provides a good match by accident: the best employees are found by existing employees, even though HR has the resumes! If HR doesn't match a resume to a position, but the person is found and hired by employee referral, give the LM employee the referral bonus (out of the HR budget). Stop saying there is a non-management career path when promotions require performing management activiites!
