  1.

Too hierarchical and lots of money spent in the wrong places.

I have been working at London Business School full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of places to eat and sit on campus. Right next to Regents park. Very close to Baker Street and Marylebone station. Staff are generally pleasant and get along. Annual pay rise dependant on performance and the companies success. 27 days holiday plus extra for longtime service. Low cost gym very close to campus. The Dean of the School is quite approachable and very endearing.

    Cons

The way staff are treat by faculty is very poor. Most of faculty are quite disrespectful and patronising which staff are expected to put up with on a daily basis because "faculty are under a lot of pressure to have articles published" but its usually the tenured professors who are the worst and they have the least pressure. No development opportunities. Some support staff are asked to do things not related to work. The salary is lower than other institution in London.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consult with staff more widely before changing processes. Inform faculty of changes through top management instead of having staff trying to persuade them to change the way they do things individually. Change what is acceptable communication between faculty and staff, there should be mutual respect. Be stricter with what faculty can claim for as expenses, lots of expensed items not related to work are approved.
