I worked at LMC for over 10 years; it started with some drawbacks and worsened throughout the years.

    - The company did not lay off during the economic downturn.
    - Many of my colleagues were skilled, professional and a pleasure to work with.

    - The Draconian attendance policy. Attendance is more valued than skill or experience.
    - The company's concern for safety ends at the property line. Be prepared to risk life, limb and car to be there on time, regardless of traffic accidents or bad weather.
    - As people leave, remaining employees are expected to add those tasks to their original tasks with no raise and no overtime expended

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your mantra is that anyone can be replaced - bad way to retain good employees. The work environment is so rigid, negative and distrustful that good employees stay only if they have no other options. You want your employees to work as a team but that can't happen when each individual is constantly scrutinized and micro-managed. There is no positive reinforcement other than the lack of negative reinforcement. You care only about the bottom line, but the constant turnover of people is counterproductive - you lose skilled people and the continuity they provide. If you want your company to grow, you need to completely rethink your management style.
