    Pros

Still a lot of good people in the newsroom. Still one of the better newspapers in the U.S. And it might be sold by end of 2015.

    Cons

After years of terrible corporate management, terrible company management and terrible newsroom management, today's L.A. Times is just a sad reminder of what it used to be. Too much effort is spent on publishing junk news while more substantive matters are ignored. Tribune Co. basically stole the title to the building formerly known as Times-Mirror Square, so the *next* ownership group -- which will be approximately the seventh since 2000 -- probably will move whatever staff is left to new offices. Meanwhile, a new publisher has taken over and reportedly is paying himself $675,000 a year with the opportunity for a $675,000 bonus. In other words, business as usual.
