I worked at Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Great benefits. Good salary.

    Cons

I left a secure position at a company to work at LRRI. I thought i was going to greener pasteurs. I went into a position of management. I quickly found that new administrative leadership was egotistical, unethical, and had the mentality that a good house was a clean house. Competent staff with the tribal knowledge key to successful management were being let go in droves and what remained was a group desperately needing help and guidance. I tried, but there were no procedures for getting me the crucial access to key software and the training I was promised to do my job. It took 9 weeks to get access but after 12 weeks I was fired with the next wave of house cleaning ending my shining career record. I have now been unemployed for 6 months. Yes I am bitter.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The only housekeeping that needed to be done was to get rid of the new, clearly flailing, administrative leader.
