I have been working at Lowe's part-time (less than an year)

The retail hourly pay seems reasonable compared to the State of New York minimum hourly income. Surprised that benefits are offered to part-time employees. Of course, you have to pay into the benefit system.

Supervisors have been great. However, cashiers have to learn the job with real customers without any real formal training. The cashiers are on a learn as you go basis with minimum training.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

How about instructing new cashiers on the use of the cash register before throwing them out to learn as you go.
How about a learning manual that instructs new cashiers the different moves on the cash register to reinforce what they learn from the head cashier and fellow employees.
