    I have been working at Lowe's

    Pros

    Many great employees, many wonderful staple customers. You develop a great sense of pride in your work and product knowledge. Going above and beyond to make a customer happy is what this job is all about. Taking initiative.

    Cons

    Retail is stressful. You are often pulled in multiple directions at once. You are often instructed to do multiple things different ways by management. Your actions are constantly in question, ex: Why are you in the paint aisle? Because you were helping a customer etc.. If you are full time, you are on a rotating schedule. You have no say in the hours. This can cause problems with school, family etc.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    If an employee has been with a company four over four years and has trained countless other successful employees, rather than harassing them about the same things every day, lets give them the benefit of the doubt that they are on top of their duties. Less criticism = Less anxiety = Happier, more productive workers. Also promotions: If an employee is extremely successful is their current post, it might seem easier to keep them there than fill that position, however it is important to allow that employee the opportunity for promotion or a change in job direction. Do not hold them back because they are just "that good".
