Not a good workplace to be a department manager

I have been working at Lowe's full-time (more than 5 years)

The amount of time you get off a year is really good even in your first year there. You get a good amount of sick time as well. You do meet other good employees which makes the day fun. A lot of the time it is a fun place to work at.

At my store there is too much favoritism going. The senior management has their "circle" of friends and those are the ones that get the promotions and can do anything they want. The corporate policy about calling out if you are sick is not fair (for the people who do not abuse it). you basically get written up for missing or leaving early sick counts as an absence.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Personally, overall I really like my job. I like what I do and take a lot of pride in work. I understand the cons I listed may not apply to all stores. I think on the employee opinion survey there should be more specific questions on our senior managers. I think we should be able to speak up about problems without fear of retaliation. I'd like to see everyone in store get treated equally and fair.
