I worked at Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska full-time for more than 3 years

flexible scheduling, meaningful work, phenomenal co-workers, good benefits, community resources

disconnected upper management, quick burnout rate, HIGH turnover, HIGH turnover, HIGH turnover, lack of support for front-line workers, upper management makes important decisions without consulting staff and wonders why programs are unstable

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees. Trust your employees. Treat them with respect and they will be loyal. It is clear that the current pattern of decision-making is not inspiring loyalty or trust in your employees. Staff stay out of loyalty to clients and not loyalty to the organization. Have senior staff visit other offices regularly. Senior staff has an attitude that their time is precious and lower staff should be eternally grateful for their gift of time. Program staff know that senior staff don't prioritize them and are only looking for community props, The organization is very concerned with image, not keeping their employees satisfied.
