Well intentioned, profitable company, but senior management is in a rut.

I have been working at Lynden Incorporated full-time (more than an year)

Large, multi-faceted, multi-state, international, employer. Decent benefits package in terms of medical/dental/RX. Many long term employees and stable employment outlook. Variety or work/skills training potential. Flexible about hours. Very polite workforce; everyone is extra nice.

Ineffective or non-existent communication among senior management, and between senior management and operating company management, and employee team at large. Pretty bad 401(k) Plan with one dimensional, limited investment options. Low base wage scale that the company attempts to compensate for with a completely arbitrary quarterly bonus program. Easy to get lost in the shuffle of the conglomerate, portions of which are fairly stagnant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior Management (CEO/COO/CFO etc.) could stand to adopt a more hands on approach by being a little less self-congratulatory, and a lot more open minded to change - not just talking the talk, but walking the walk. Also, be more visible to employees. Communicate enterprise goals, direction, projects with employee team. Get out of the "Ivory Tower "and visit Operating Companies more often to see the front lines and hear what OpCo management has to say/suggest. Don't discourage pragmatic feedback in the name of being "positive" or having a "can do" attitude.

    Positive Outlook
    Approves of CEO
