I have been working at MD Financial Management full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent Benefits plan. However, just recently increased the pension retirement age by another year. Great number of weeks vacation. Start at 3 weeks for newbies. 4 weeks at year 5.

    Cons

Leadership lacks vision. Brian Peters, CEO is a person who focuses more of profitability than on people. Management team are appointed to individuals who are a yes person. Cannot be critical of the company otherwise face consequences. Management always want open forums and critiques of them, but it's a career limiting move when employees voice concerns. Company is focused on pushing own products and in-house investments to doctors. Culture of the company is completely 180 degree since new ceo and his appointees joined firm. I agree with other previous comments about the negativity and worrisome of job losses. Firm has cut nearly 300 employees in the last 5 years, either forcing early retirement, or severance packages. They say physicians first, but in reality, employees come last to the detriment of the physician experiences. Turnover of financial consultants is relatively high.

    Advice to Management

It's the people that make the difference and culture. What was a great culture. Listen and read the internal information on the employee engagement surveys.
