    I have been working at MGA Entertainment full-time (More than 5 years)


    There are 3 main pros I can think of as an internal employee: 1. The owner The company is owned by one of the most courageous, passionate and caring entrepreneurs I have seen in my professional career. Starting from nothing and building a company from the ground up is a success story that I can say I am proud to be part of everyday I come to work. He even has an open door policy where even junior level staff can speak with him about their ideas and brain storm with him. He is also one of the smartest people I've met. 2. Creativity I have worked for many large Fortune 500 companies and have never encountered a culture that is so focused on delivering high quality creative content and toys as MGA Entertainment. One of the best things about the company is that the people are passionate about what they do, they care about the company and are enabled to express their creative visions. 3. New Leadership Over the past few years the CEO has invested in new leadership that has inspired a cultural change throughout the organization. The leaders are smart and have come from running large organizations. The leaders in place have a plan to shape the culture that ignites creativity, empowers people to engage in their jobs and deliver high quality results.


    Although there are a lot of pros and the list could have continued, there are some cons to consider when thinking about making the move to this company. 1. Process If you are one who loves the policy manual and is 'by the book' then reconsider. This place is nimble, quick to deliver and moves fast to keep the competitive edge. There is hardly red tape slowing the creative process down. 2. Long-term employees vs. New employees As an internal employee I have observed that there are people here who started working here since the beginning - when there were less than 25 people staffed. Now we have well over 1,000 employees world-wide. This can cause a bit of clash in the way 'things used to be' and...'the way things should be....' This can be a bit frustrating for smart people who want to grow the business and don't want to be held down by people who think in patterns that cannot change. Senior leadership is helping with this because they are setting out aggressive growth targets while empower employees to grow and be the best they can be.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to listen to the employee population - they are the people who make this place alive and allow the company to thrive in the marketplace. Continue to expect excellence; that is what enables us to grow and accomplish the goals we have set out for ourselves.
