I worked at MGM Grand Hotel full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

MGM Grand is great for hourly employees! Due to the union hourly employees make about twice as much as they would at a nonunion location doing the same thing. The one thing I would suggest to someone who wants to work here is don't let greed change you. I have seen it so many times and its really sad. I think some hourly people who do the same job on the outside who make less are happier because they work in a different environment where everyone goes to work to work because if they don't work then they would get reprimanded for it.

    Cons

Management Salary is sad you pretty much get paid the same as your employees and in some cases less. As a manager in operations you pretty much just get used. They work you like crazy and you don't even have time to take a lunch break! I just think upper management should take better care of their managers. They have to put up with a lot of stuff and it would be nice if they were rewarded just like other employees. Also their is no room for growth here most hiring is done from outside or sister properties so to move up you would need to go to another property. there is also a huge lack of organization or training here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think they need to look at their priorities and see whats most important to them. I think its silly that some departments shut down so they can do a preshift when their are calls that they should be taking care of.
