Not the best company to work for, but you'll learn a lot about retail.

I have been working at Macy's part-time (less than a year)

One of the best things about working for Macy's is that you can choose your own schedule. Not need to ask to have a day off or having to think up an excuse to call out for the day, because everything is online. Of course, they do schedule hours throughout the week but it's a very flexible company.
Also you learn a lot about how a retail store works. It would be a great first job for anyone.

Sometimes it feels like you're not getting paid enough for how much you do. You must keep the floor clean, help customers, persuade others to open Macy's cards, etc all for 9.00 per hour. At the end of an extremely long 7.50 hour shift where you get paid less than 60.00 after taxes it feels like it's not worth it.
Also feel like a lot of the senior staff are a little stuck up. Could be just the Macy's I work at though.

    Neutral Outlook
