Former Employee - Design Engineer in Great Malvern, England (UK)

I worked at Malvern Instruments full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Splendid location, subsidised gym, most "workers" are great guys. SOME pieces of work are interesting, and SOME of the managers are understanding.

    Cons

Sometimes you spend hours giving some technical advice, in reply to a question, and, if it's not the answer they were hoping for, you feel as if you've just become invisible. Since it's recent reorganisation and recruitment of a team of cronies from Cheltenham, you can wave goodbye to any progression of any sort.
The pay rises, are, on the whole significantly below the rate of inflation, so you're still into the game of moving to a different job every 2-3 years to maintain your pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

LISTEN TO YOUR STAFF. That's all LISTEN TO THEM. They really do understand your business better than you appear to.
