I have been working at Maritz Research full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Difficult to come up with at least one pro... maybe it is my coworkers who work very hard and are generally caring people

    Cons

Company has been on a downward trend for sometime. Leaders fail to place emphasis on technology and recognize the business opportunities it brings. Instead we are forced to focus on cutting cost and getting by using obsolete tools and skills. Speed is not in our vocabulary. It is all about process, forms, approvals, miscommunication, CYA, and working the system. Communication is also VERY POOR and we no longer trust those who speak. Every six months we are told here is the new Maritz "our new way forward" and we now want to listen to you. Here are some town hall meetings so you can be heard. This cycle goes on and on yet the results are the same. Management is made up of a very close circle of males who all think and act alike. All IT work is being pushed to India. This has created a mass exodus of remaining IT professionals. Those of us still here are now overworked as no one wants to accept employment here on a short term basis - especially using obsolete technology and long hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I am not certain the company can be saved at this point. So much talent has left the organization and so much more is actively looking to leave - including myself.
