I worked at Mars as a contractor (more than 3 years)

There are very good employee benefits, but that is only if you are very happy with the corporate culture.

People in the group tend to be extremely competitive. It is very hard to engage with anyone in the organisation as everyone is looking to pursue their own goals and agenda. I received very dismissive answers from people appointing me projects. Long hours were always in the schedule. I once had to flight with one of the directors a ten hour journey and she hardly spoke to me. Whilst we stayed in the same hotel, we never even shared the same taxi for a three day conference we were supposed to attend together. I really cannot explain my self enough for the type of working experience I had when employed by Mars. It is just the mentality of the people working there. For some people it might work, for some people it won't. However, I would like to advice people to consider it very strongly before applying. Sometimes corporate cultures are not as strong and therefore someone with a different culture might not find it difficult to blend in. For Mars however is a different case and I feel that every person applying should take some time to consider it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To be very blunt, there is no one advice for the particular issue. However I feel that Mars seriously need to review their leadership and management policies. Management seems to be threaten by junior people and this is not healthy for the long term survival of the company.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
