I have been working at Mattel full-time (More than 8 years)

Half day Friday. Close to shopping, dining, LAX. Casual work attire on most days.

Understaffed design dept. Designers are treated poorly. You are just the worker bee. Upper management has poor vision and very cliquey. Marketing and finance control the creative vision. More work with less people. Offloading more prelim work to China. Toys are cheap and poorly made. Seasoned designers leaving for other companies. Layoffs happen about every 6 months now.

    Advice to Management

New blood is needed at the top. Stop laying off and forcing people out. Who's gonna build your toys. Def not a visionary company. The ship is sinking if not all ready sunk.
