    I worked at MaxPoint full-time (More than 3 years)


    Fair compensation with uncapped earnings potential. Fully paid medical and liberal PTO were a plus. Benefits overall were better than most other companies I have been employed by. In addition, the company has a very unique offering in the marketplace which when positioned correctly was highly effective. In the first 3 years they were able to grow tremendously which meant that many people exceeded goals and achieved their On Target Earnings and then some. Initially MaxPoint had done a great job building a culture of really collaborative & fun people sharing in success.


    The culture has eroded over time due to many factors; the product is no longer as innovative as it once was, the company grew so fast it was not equipped or prepared to support the product, offices have seen a high degree of turnover in sales, sales management and account management and most importantly the company has outgrown it's leadership. Be very aware of mere words because actions often do not align.

    Advice to Management

    You've accomplished so much in taking a company from nothing to becoming a publicly traded stock on the NYSE. Congratulations, that is a tremendous achievment and you all should be applauded. It's now time to grow professionally understanding that this is a first for the senior leadership of this company and everyone has been elevated well beyond their past experiences. You must learn to trust in others, lead and inspire rather than just dictate and instill fear through punitive manners. You'll need to vastly improve support on the back end and become significantly more transparent in the inner-workings of the technology (both internally and externally) if you want to build upon past successes. Put aside pettiness, personal feelings and biases and move forward making decisions that are best for the company and it's stockholders. This is a critical point in MaxPoint's evolution, your people, client relationships and technology are your biggest assets, improve on them all and become all that you can be.
