Phenomenal product - immature company. Unless you are desperate for a job, don't work here.

The product is great with very few competitors, so company will continue to thrive in spite itself.

Upper management knows what they are doing and are *driving the company in the right direction (see notes below)

Most people work exactly 40 hours, not more or less. No startup type hours.

it doesn't take much effort to do 'adequate' work which would be considered mediocre at any other company.

When a majority of your sales and marketing team leaves it's a bad sign.

it is billed as a startup but operated as small business. No startup culture. Thinking outside of the box or brining fresh ideas is shunned unless your manager takes credit for the idea and pitches it themselves.

For most employees this is either their first job out of college or first job after a career field change, and it's pretty obvious. More experienced employees who are brought in are underutilized and not placed in positions where they have the authority or resources to do their job effectively.

Early hire employees are promoted to the highest level of their incompetence, which is managing other employees. While there are outliers, a majority of those who manage other employees fall into this category.

No transparency between upper management and employees, and why various business decisions are made leading to the aforementioned managers to turn lower-level employees against upper management.

No learning and growth opportunities. Most people are out for their own best interest so any efforts you take that may threaten them are quickly squashed.

    Advice to Management

You can't push a chain. You're steering the company in the right direction but no one is following you because you aren't actually in control of the company. Take control of the company and stop letting rogue employees make business decisions that are completely self serving, damage employee morale and muddy client relationships.
