    Pros

+ Serious attempts at upskilling people who are chosen based on recommendations by high level managers
+ Great health and related benefits that can't be matched in the industry
+ Maybank products can be innovative and exciting in the industry
+ Opportunities to transfer if you are one of the few recognised by a senior manager

    Cons

+ All the upskilling in the world means nothing when you're constantly facing resistance to change from all levels
+ Salary is low compared to industry
+ Managers who refuse to take responsibility or initiate meetings with the intention of delaying projects/decisions
+ Problems taken up with IR and HR are not always resolved due to internal "politics"
+ Gap between Head Office and branch's needs and requirements
+ There are many managers who are senior and close to retiring, but are out of touch and reluctantly do more than what is in their scope
+ Educating people on new products and policies is a huge challenge logistically
+ Internal transfer is difficult and requesting one is enough to garner harassment from the supervisor

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just because people say nothing at townhalls, doesn't mean they are happy with the high workloads, low pay, and extremely high expectations from the mid level management. IT, training, deadwood managers, and processes are all issues everyone faces and not resolving this quickly means people lose their motivation to work.

There should also be private channels that allow people to voice their experience of verbal or work-related harassment by supervisor (like giving extra workload as punishment) as past experience has shown no one is willing to help resolve these issue unless the affected staff leaves.

The top management may be forward thinking, but that rarely trickles down the mid management level who act as if they can do no wrong.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
