I have been working at McCarthy & Holthus full-time

Working at home is allowed for most attorneys in satellite offices. It's a volume business, which has its perks. You don't have to put in overtime trying to do quality work because that is not valued. Billable hours are reasonable.

Lots of office drama and gossiping from the management staff. Whether they bring from home or it originates at work, it is distracting. Text book opposite of meritocracy. There is no point in working hard unless you are already "in" (family/friend). The volume of work leads to low quality of work, which can be frustrating if you prefer quality over quantity and want to build any new skills after your first couple months.

    Advice to Management

Realize that low salaries and bad benefits are the least of the problems. Morale needs to be improved and that can never happen when all but the chosen handful out of hundreds of employees are completely disposable.
