Former Employee - Shift Manager in South Jordan, UT

I worked at McDonald's part-time for less than a year

I got to practice my Spanish with the awesome Spanish crew. They were flexible and sensitive to my college schedule. (They'd give me the day off if I needed to study). If you were easy going, you got along with everyone. The shift manager position had excellent training and I felt like I learned a lot about how to be a leader and a good people person. (customers and crew.) I told them that I had fast-food management experience and they promoted me to shift manager in less than a month.

I didn't get paid enough. When I found a better paying job, they immediately offered me a $4 raise. (Still $2 less than what the new job would pay me.) It's like, if i was worth that much more, why didn't you pay me? Finally, I was am a Computer Science major. I felt as though McDonald's wasn't a good use of my skills. I'm now an Software Developer intern making more than twice as much.
