    I worked at McDonald's full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great place to work for if you like interacting with people, and enjoy a fast paced environment. There is always room for advancement within the company if you apply yourself, and show initiative.

    Cons

I had $0.67 in pay rate increases in six years, though my workload more than doubled. The reasoning for it was that they could not "afford" to pay me more. Also I was on a rotating schedule of two 4pm-1am shifts, two 10pm-6am shifts (that often went till 8am) a day off, then a 9am-5pm shift, then another day off. It was difficult, and I never seemed to get enough sleep.

Some supervisors would place high expectations upon you, but would not give you the proper tools to properly get the job done.

Many times people were promoted who were unqualified, just to fill a spot, which caused an inordinate amount of stress for the rest of us, and frustrated our customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Even though work life balance is touted as a priority, often times I was either working or sleeping most my days. Try to listen more carefully to your subordinates.

Work on better development, and training. Return to the core competency of the company.
