Great place if you like to pretent you are busy...appears to be the status quo there.

    Pros

Nice grounds, cafeteria, people nice. Many colleagues share the same opinion about the mid-managers.

    Cons

Not one single task for me to do for my first 3 weeks. The mid-mgr who identified herself as a director was more of a "do-nothing, pretend busy clerical." Very into herself, her cronies at the company, out for hours in the middle of the day! Blames all of her problems and errors on the consultants. Gets away with it. There is no unity of command, the mid-level manager/supervisors are all very insecure because they can't do their own jobs. So they hire consultants and all they do is berate and treat them disrespectfully - hey, they enjoy making the consultants feel inferior and disrespected, they appear to take pride in that. They are also very good at hiding information consultants and any interim worker would need to get any job done in attempts to make simple things difficult for the new consultants and make tons of mistakes - waste lots of productivity and time, all so they can keep their jobs while making everyone around them miserable. I wonder just where is senior management when they are needed? The offices have glass walls yet they are always behind closed doors?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of all of your mid-manager/supervisors and treat your consultants with more respect. Make sure that the consultants are provided with adequate resources to do their jobs so there is no "thumb-twiddling." Stop wasting dollars on those insecure permanent workers.
