    I have been working at Medidata Solutions full-time (more than an year)


    Seems like a solid place to start your career. Management invests in, and encourages, rapport building activities. Some very nice, competent people mixed in. Generous time off.


    Agree with others that advancement within the company is virtually nil. Some exceptions but management tends to be indifferent and/or inexperienced. A surprising number of teams can be truly toxic because of this weak management. If one finds themselves on one of these teams leaving the company is the only recourse since moving within the company is almost unheard of. The office is marketed as open plan but is more of a call center meets trading floor. Privacy is non existent, the noise is intrusive, and conference rooms are always booked.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Consider making work from home standard or redesign the office space. Open plan + sorely lacking conference rooms = a miserable, impossible work environment. There are days it feels like you're trying to conduct business in Penn Station. It's embarrassing to have clients frequently complain that they can't hear you over the background noise.

    Insurance options should include a "middle of the road" plan. Current options are bare bones or too expensive relative to salaries.

    Pay attention to dysfunctional teams as a whole instead of targeting one employee per team.
