I have been working at Medtronic full-time (more than 5 years)

Medtronic has some of the brightest and best educated co-workers I've experienced.

The sheer size of the company means that there is a ton of politics and very very slow moving to react to the market. There are employees who literally "hide" in the cubicle farm with little or no known contribution while others will quit for new opportunities due to high manager turnover, no career progression or clear path on how to get "there".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

High turnover of managers and staff in marketing. Some employees in marketing have experienced 4-5 managers over a 3 year period. Each brand new manager is not in a position to promote and state that they need time to evaluate the employees. Employees become frustrated knowing that each new manager starts their observation time clock over again, stagnating their promotion potential.
